Summary

Presentation: “You’re All Doing It All Wrong All the Time; or, How I Learned to Stop Whining and Adhere to the Discovery Rules” by Daniel Gunter of Larsen Walters PLLC

The practice of responding to discovery varies sharply from the mandates of the rules and the cases interpreting them. Most lawyers respond to discovery requests in ways that judges dislike intensely: interposing general and boilerplate objections and offering conditional responses ("Subject to and without waiving these objections . . ." and the like). This approach is all wrong. This CLE will review cases out of Washington and the federal courts showing you how to respond to discovery according to the letter and spirit of the rules.
