Summary

Presentation: “Blueprints for Resolution: Navigating Environmental Law in Construction Disputes” by Chase Meyers and Jordan Peponis of Kroll, LLC

Environmental law is not readily associated with construction disputes, but their overlap can have significant impacts on the success of a project.  This session will explore that intersection from the perspective of an expert witness.  Through a discussion about unique aspects of construction contracts and disputes, attendees will gain insight into key contractual provisions, how risks are dealt with, and mechanisms for the parties to recover damages.

The presentation will also cover:

  • An introduction to key scheduling terminology and common methods used by experts to analyze projects.
  • An overview of extensions of time, liquidated damages, and other common claim types on construction projects.
  • Case studies that will enhance attendees’ grasp of the concepts covered in the presentation.
