Summary

The Washington Statewide Kinship Care Legal Aid Coordinator and the Managing Attorney of the KCBA Kinship Care Solutions Project will review family safety planning for parents who may face deportation, and solutions for children under the Uniform Guardianship Act. The presenters will cover the importance and essentials of safety planning for families and children. The program will provide an overview of the Uniform Guardianship Act, its notable provisions and intersection with other relevant laws. The requirements for delegation of parental powers, minor guardianships, emergency and standby guardianships and for modification or termination will be summarized. The summary will include local procedures.
