Vicarious trauma is, unfortunately, an expected consequence for those working in fields such as counseling, social work, emergency response, healthcare, criminal justice, or any profession where individuals are exposed to others' traumatic experiences. This workshop is designed to equip professionals who work in these environments with the tools and insights necessary to recognize, address, and manage the effects of vicarious trauma, with a priority on practical suggestions to develop coping strategies. It will also explore ways to create a supportive organizational culture that recognizes and addresses vicarious trauma.
