Panel Presentation: “Pretrial Release: A Conversation with Judges” with panelists Judge Catherine McDowall, Seattle Municipal Court; Judge Leah Taguba, King County District Court (Auburn); Judge Joe Campagna, King County Superior Court; and Judge David Keenan, King County Superior Court

This presentation will cover:

Whether the accused is to be incarcerated pending trial, and what, if any, amount of bail they must post to acquire release, has immense implications for both sides in criminal litigation. At this month’s meeting, trial judges at every level in King County will explain the factors they take into account in making pretrial release decisions. The panelists will also address how both parties can best prepare to argue for their desired outcome.
