Presentation: “Losing Control: Receiverships and Bankruptcy” by Alena Ivanov and Todd Brannon, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Washington

As receiverships become more commonplace, either the debtor or creditors may want the protections of the Bankruptcy Code. This presentation will discuss how a debtor in a receivership can get to bankruptcy court and the issues various parties may encounter. These issues include how to get out of bankruptcy court, whether the receivership ends, and the role of the receiver once the debtor is under the bankruptcy court’s jurisdiction.
