Summary

Presentation: “Environmental Dispute Resolution: Yes, You CAN Successfully Apply ADR Skills to Public Policy Facilitation” by Sam Imperati, Executive Director of ICMresolutions

This presentation will cover:

As PNW ADR practitioners, we are privileged to live in a beautiful part of the world. Most of us have a keen interest in and affinity for the natural environment. And, yet, most of us rarely consider how our professional training and experience can support robust, nuanced conversations toward policies that protect and support these broad interests. In this session, Mr. Imperati will guide us through a discussion to come to a common understanding of what public policy/environmental facilitation is and share examples of the types of disputes amenable to ADR skills. The presentation will highlight the key differences and core similarities between facilitation and mediation and provide some practice resources for practitioners.
