Summary

Attorneys Gary Manca and Aaron Orheim will highlight topics that are especially relevant for trial counsel when it comes to civil appeals. Namely, taking steps in trial court before and after a verdict to preserve error, obtaining a stay in trial court to prevent enforcement of the judgment while the appeal is pending, and the duty of competence when undertaking an appeal.
There will be 30 minutes of appellate practice ethics.
