Summary

Presentation: "Emotional Hurdles in Divorce" by Anne Robinson Lucas

All finishing marriages have emotional stumbling blocks but there are some hurdles that bring additional complexity and depth to divorce and post-divorce relationships.

This presentation will address three of these:

- Gay and Grey coming out later in life and marriage

- Transgender, again, coming out later in life and marriage

- Long term polyamorous relationships and their impact in divorce

This presentation will provide information to raise awareness regarding the unique emotional impact on partners, parents, children, families, and social spheres which in turn impacts thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a divorce.

- Understanding the story of each party

- Identifying the emotions and emotional impact involved for both parties and families

- The ability to acknowledge and hold in the process for professionals
