Thank You Member-Volunteers! - BAR BULLETIN

A huge thank you to the 20 fabulous KCBA members and their families who volunteered with us on September 23 at Food Lifeline! Food Lifeline distributes food to a network of food banks and other organizations, as a sort of “food bank for the food banks.” They receive large bulk donations from various sources, but these donations often are too large and unwieldy to donate to smaller food banks and shelters. That’s where volunteers come in, to take those large donations and break them down into smaller packages that can be distributed out where needed.

On September 23, two groups of KCBA volunteers met, engaged with each other, and sorted pounds and pounds of potatoes into smaller boxes to then be distributed to feed members of our community. It was a blast and so rewarding. KCBA hopes to bring similar volunteer opportunities to our members in the future. Working together on a (non-legal) project is a wonderful way for attorneys to connect with each other and grow their personal and professional network. And it feels great to do good while meeting new people! Keep your eyes “peeled” (see what I did there?) for more volunteer engagement events — and let us know if you have one in mind you’d like to see KCBA take on.
