Judge Rampersad succeeds Judge Catherine Shaffer in Department 11. She is assigned to Unified Family Court at the King County Courthouse. Judge Rampersad comes to Superior Court after serving as a judge on King County District Court. Prior to becoming a judge, she had a diverse and varied law practice, including appeals, criminal defense, work as an assistant attorney general, and a law clerk to Washington State Supreme Court Justice Barbara Madsen. As many of you know, I was born and raised on Maui, and Maui always will be my home. The devastation and loss of life from the wildfires on Maui is incomprehensible. The people of Maui are resilient and strong, and the Aloha Spirit, community pride, and sense of Ohana (family) will carry Maui forward during this tremendously difficult period, and beyond.

Please keep Maui in your thoughts and in your hearts. Mahalo Nui Loa. MAUI STRONG!
