Did you know? Your NLD board and committees are working hard to bring you new and exciting content! Since September, we have hosted networking events including Speed Networking and Back-to-Law-School Mixers; social events including Tacos and Trivia Night and a CLE every other month. CLEs usually have a hybrid attendance option, but coming in person is a great way to meet other NLD members. And remember, CLEs hosted by the NLD are complimentary for NLD members.

Happenings: On February 24th, the NLD was proud to offer a CLE on “2026 Ethics Implications of Artificial-
Intelligence Use By Attorneys: State Bar Guidance, Disciplinary Actions, And What Not To Do.” Given the increasing frequency of use of AI in our profession, the NLD Services Committee thought it was timely. The CLE was hosted virtually and all interested KCBA members were invited to attend. Attendance topped 100 participants—the highest turnout ever for an NLD CLE event. CLE attendees reported that the CLE was useful and informative. Inspired, the NLD Services Committee also hosted “Wildfires in Washington: Ecological Aspects of Severity and Recovery,” which explored the perspective of wildfires as forces for recovery by the land for the land, rather than as a source of destruction. Many participants found this CLE very informative and enjoyed the subject matter. In March, the NLD social committee hosted “Tacos and Trivia” for NLD members to enjoy a night of fun and friendly gamesmanship. Free to NLD members, the committee was pleased with the turnout and looks forward to our biggest social event of the year, the Spring Soiree! It’s right around the corner!

Coming Up: The one, the only NLD annual Spring Soirée! Come celebrate Spring with the NLD on April 9th from 5:00–7:30pm at ArtLove Salon, 110 Union Street. It will be difficult to choose between the amazing variety of silent auction items; you might just need to bid on a few! (All silent auction proceeds benefit KCBA Neighborhood Legal Clinics partner program, Northwest Immigrant Rights Project). Enjoy the art-filled surroundings as you toast the 2026 Mentor of the Year! See old colleagues and make new friends. Join us for this joyful Spring celebration!  Pre-registration is required. Please use the handy QR code located here and register today!
