KCBA’s New Lawyers End the Year with Energy — and Extend an Invitation

I hope everyone is on their way to having a wonderful summer. As I write this in the last week of June, we are looking ahead to a few events to close out a banner year for NLD. This is the year we started this Bulletin column to let everyone in on the happenings of our mighty group.

Did you know? The KCBA New Lawyers Division rounded out this term with our final virtual meeting on June 3. Topics for the meeting included adding a new lay member and looking forward into next year, with the new board term commencing July 1.

Many thanks, on behalf of our board, to Amanda Simantov for her contributions as our leader and Chairperson. We are truly grateful for your leadership and the guidance you have provided to aid the board in navigating the last year.

Happenings: NLD had several exciting events in June! We held the NLD year-end barbecue on June 18 at Gas Works Park. Many NLD members enjoyed the opportunity to mingle and get to know others in our community. Soon after, on June 26, NLD participated in the KCBA Annual Awards Dinner, where the recipient of the Outstanding New Lawyer award was honored. Also, NLD hosted a virtual Sports Law CLE on June 30, which was offered free to all NLD members.

There is no shortage of ways to get involved with NLD, meet new colleagues, give back to the community, and network with attorneys in their first 10 years of practice. We encourage all NLD members to come and experience the energy of our vibrant NLD!
