Celebrating Mentorship, Service & Outstanding New Lawyers
Did you know? As a benefit of your KCBA NLD membership you have access to the KCBA CLE library! Whether an NLD attorney new to practice or a student member of the NLD you have access to hundreds of on demand CLE’s at great rates! This vast library of CLE material is sure to have a topic to pique your interest! In addition, CLE’s specifically sponsored by the NLD are free to NLD members. Check the KCBA NLD webpage for information about upcoming CLE’s offered to NLD members. We hope to see you there!
Happenings: On March 27th the NLD hosted our biggest event of the year, the 20th annual Spring Soirée! This year’s Spring Soirée was held at The Rainier Club, and event attendees enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while mixing, mingling, and networking. At the event, the NLD conferred the Mentor of the Year Award to Becky Roe, who was nominated by Laura Brindley. The other finalists who were recognized at the event for their mentorship include Bernel Goldberg and Ed Harper. We at the NLD truly appreciate all mentors who support new attorneys entering practice through thoughtful and supportive mentorship! The Spring Soirée also featured a silent auction with proceeds benefiting the KCBA Domestic Violence Legal Advocacy Project. The NLD board was proud to raise funds to support this worthy program at KCBA. Thank you to all of our sponsors and donors who made this event possible!
Coming Up: The KCBA NLD is partnering with Food Lifeline for an event repacking and sorting food and would be honored to have you join us as a volunteer! Food insecurity is a pressing issue which impacts individuals and families across our region. Through the efforts of organizations like Food Lifeline and the dedication of volunteers like you, we can work together to help address this challenge and provide crucial support to those who need it most.
