Bruce Michael Pym

September 29, 1942 – August 20, 2024

The King County Bar Association was sad to learn of the passing of former Seattle King County Bar President, Bruce Pym. His 40-year legal career was punctuated by extensive community and charitable work and his ethos of integrity and community engagement exemplified the Bar’s mission then and now.

Bruce was President of SKCBA from 1984 to 1985 during which time he was instrumental in the judicial candidate evaluation process and the development of an expanded code of judicial conduct for judges.

His legal career began with a clerkship with Chief Justice Robert Finley at the Washington State Supreme Court. He then practiced law for 24 years at Graham & Dunn, and for another 15 years at Heller Ehrman. His early years of practice included litigation and transactional work, but he later focused solely on corporate transactional work. He was heavily involved in management at both firms, ultimately chairing Heller’s corporate practices globally. After retiring from legal work at the end of 2007, Bruce embarked on a related career in investment services and eventually joined Meridian Capital in 2013, where he served as Managing Director until fully retiring in 2024.

King County Bar is proud to have been a small part of Bruce’s extensive career. Our condolences and warm wishes go out to his family.
