KCBA/KCBF Recognition Event Honors Volunteers and Foundation Donors

The King County Bar Association and King County Bar Foundation celebrated their Pro Bono Services volunteers and donors at the annual Recognition Event on September 27 at the Women's University Club. KCBF President Harry H. Schneider, Jr. and Pro Bono Services Director Threesa Milligan opened the awards program and on behalf of the bar expressed heartfelt thanks for all the contributions made by the guests, volunteers and donors alike.
Washington Supreme Court Justice Steven C. Gonzalez, a longtime advocate for civil legal aid, continued the evening's message of gratitude with his uplifting remarks about the value of service.
Milligan and PBS Committee Chair Will Ross presented eight outstanding volunteers with KCBA's Volunteer of the Year Award for their service to the bar's pro bono, civil legal aid programs.
Troy Courage, Attorney at Law, received the Perseverance award for taking a Family Law Mentor program client's case that had a return hearing within the week and successfully serving the client through the case's many twists and lengthy turns to a favorable outcome.
