BOLD Program Tackles Financial Planning
By Nancy Williams
If you're a seasoned KCBA member with 30 years or more of practice under your belt, you are automatically part of KCBA's BOLD group. Our occasional programs provide the opportunity to socialize with your peers as well as to gain valuable information and free CLE credit.
Last spring, BOLD offered a program on planning for the psychological and emotional consequences of retiring or cutting back on your practice. We had a great turnout and lots of questions and interest. But the program did not address financial issues that accompany decisions about retirement and/or reduced practice loads. We're about to fill that gap.
On Thursday, November 1, BOLD will present a program on financial planning for retirement. Our featured speaker is Jeffrey Johnson of Ameriprise Financial. We anticipate that Johnson will help us understand the financial resources we'll need as we begin cutting back and how to go about remedying a lack of resources.
If you're contemplating reducing or winding up your practice, this will be a valuable program for you. Davis Wright Tremaine has kindly offered us its meeting room on Floor 22 of the 1201 Third Avenue Building.
As usual, BOLD will provide light refreshments, wine and soft drinks. We ask attendees to contribute $5 toward the costs. Please watch your email for a KCBA announcement of the event or you can contact Janielle Harris (firstname.lastname@example.org) to sign up. Be BOLD and join us!
