This month's theme is "Go." As I write this, the place I would really like to go is outdoors because it's Saturday, sunny, 70 degrees and a great day to "go" sit on the waterfront and watch the boats "go" by, which is probably where I will be when I finish this column.

Partners, Shareholders and Directors

M. Lorena Gonzalez and Lindsay Halm have become partners at Schroeter Goldmark & Bender. Gonzalez focuses her practice on representing individuals who have been victimized by people in positions of authority. Halm's practice is primarily focused on ending discrimination and illegal pay practices in the workplace. She also represents victims of assault and abuse, and people who have lost family members in serious accidents. Prior to joining SGB in 2007, she served as a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge James L. Robart.

Pam Kohli Jacobson has become a director at Betts Patterson & Mines, P.S. Jacobson, a former partner at Christensen O'Connor Johnson & Kindness, is a patent attorney with a broad intellectual property background, which includes licensing, patent prosecution, trademark prosecution, and trademark trial and appeal board proceedings.

Vernon Francissen has joined Lane Powell P.C. as a shareholder in its Seattle office. Francissen focuses his practice on intellectual property matters and related counseling, including patent and trademark litigation, preparation, prosecution, licensing and acquisition. Francissen was previously with Microsoft where he worked as patent counsel to a variety of product teams.

John Parnass has joined Pacifica Law Group as a partner. Parnass provides comprehensive construction legal services to clients regarding public and private infrastructure projects, including transit, water/wastewater systems, roads, bridges and tunneling projects, as well as large commercial, medical, sports and educational facilities. He was formerly with Davis Wright Tremaine LLP.

Associate Additions

Frank Johnson Jr. recently joined Kilpatrick Townsend as a registered patent attorney. Johnson's practice emphasizes patent preparation, prosecution and counseling in the areas of software and technology. Prior to joining the firm, Johnson worked as a patent attorney trainee at another firm.
