March 2013 Bar Bulletin

It is the month for March MadnessĀ®, which means an inordinate amount of otherwise billable time will be spent on office pools and talking smack about basketball. Since every lawyer graduated from college somewhere (including multiple colleges for overachiever types), March MadnessĀ® often provides a lively topic for office conversation. If baseball and/or sunshine are more your thing, hope springs eternal at the Mariners' spring training camp.

Partner Pronouncements

If the number of individuals who have recently become partners, members or shareholders is any indication, the economy is definitely on the upswing.

Christensen O'Connor Johnson Kindness, PLLC has elected Pam Jacobson to the firm's membership. Jacobson is a registered patent attorney with an active patent prosecution docket and manages the intellectual property asset portfolios of her clients.

Traeger Machetanz and Jon DeMella have become partners at Dorsey & Whitney. Machetanz's practice focuses on construction-related matters. DeMella's practice emphasizes government contract issues. They were previously with Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker, LLP.

Matthew Adams and Patrick Sheldon have become shareholders at Forsberg & Umlauf, P.S. Adams' practice emphasizes insurance coverage litigation. Sheldon defends medical providers and attorneys in malpractice and disciplinary matters.

Michael Schechter has been promoted to member at Foster Pepper. Schechter focuses his practice on municipal governance, open government, eminent domain, land use and environment issues.
