LHHC Fundraisers Help Food Programs

On October 10, Lawyers Helping Hungry Children, a nonprofit dedicated to ending childhood hunger in Washington, held joint fundraisers in Seattle and Tacoma.

The King County Chapter held its annual fundraiser at the Grand Hyatt in Seattle. The luncheon was emceed by Ian Lindsay, and featured remarks delivered on behalf of Molly Moon Neitzel, founder and CEO of Molly Moon Ice Cream.

The Longfellow Elementary School Choir entertained the biggest crowd to date, and attendees also had the opportunity to sample and purchase ice cream generously donated by Molly Moon Ice Cream, with all proceeds benefitting hungry children in King County and beyond.

The event was the most successful to date and raised more than $26,000 to assist beneficiary organizations, including the City of Seattle Summer Food Program, Northwest Harvest, Emergency Feeding Program, WithinReach, CARE and Children's Alliance.

The Pierce County Chapter held its fourth annual breakfast fundraiser the same day. The breakfast was attended by more than 70 Tacoma-area attorneys and judges, and raised more than $7,000 for emergency food programs in Pierce County.

Additional information about Lawyers Helping Hungry Children is available on the organization's page on Facebook, at www.lawyershelpinghungrychildren.org, or by contacting Marla Zink at Marla@washapp.org.
