Welcome to the Power issue! I assume by the time you read this that key people in Congress will have exerted some power to prevent us from falling off that metaphorical fiscal cliff. If not, you can use this paper as biofuel when you are done reading it in the event of a post-fiscal-cliff power shortage.

Lane Powell is pleased to announce that Joseph Corr and Timothy Jones have been elected shareholder. Corr focuses his practice on complex litigation matters and commercial disputes. Jones practices in the areas of real estate development, finance, purchase and sale transactions, property management, commercial leasing, and distressed real estate.
Rob Roy Smith has joined Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton's Native American Affairs team as a partner. Smith was formerly with Ater Wynne. He advises Indian tribal clients and others doing business in Indian Country on all aspects of federal, state and tribal law.
Susan Schalla and Parker Keehn have joined Carney Badley Spellman as associates. Schalla's practice focuses on business matters, including contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and federal taxation issues. She was previously an associate with Davis Wright Tremaine and Bingham McCutchen. Keehn's practice is in civil and commercial litigation, and construction law.
Laura Cox and Joe Stockton have joined Ashbaugh Beal as associates. Both are 2012 law school graduates.
