KCBA Seeks Board, Award Nominations
The King County Bar Association is soliciting nominations for the KCBA Board of Trustees, as well as for its annual awards, which will be presented at the awards dinner in June.
The Board and officer positions to be filled this year are: three Central District trustee positions; one Eastside District trustee; secretary/trustee; treasurer; and second vice president.
The Nominating Committee seeks broad diversity for the Board of Trustees, including ethnicity, gender, practice area, firm size and geographic diversity. Nominees must be members in good standing of KCBA. All positions have three-year terms except for the position of treasurer, which has a two-year term. The second vice president will succeed to the positions of first vice president and president. Additional information can be found at http://www.kcba.org/aboutkcba/leadershipop.aspx.
Please email KCBA Executive Director Andrew Prazuch at AndrewP@kcba.org by January 11 to suggest members whom you believe to be good candidates for these positions. Interested members may also self-nominate by sending a cover letter and resume.
The bylaws provide that the committee must identify at least one candidate for each position. The committee's slate of nominees will be published in the April Bar Bulletin.
Nominations for KCBA's annual awards, presented for distinguished and meritorious service in the legal profession and the judiciary, must be received by Friday, February 1. Submissions should be made in writing to Associate Executive Director Kathleen Jensen, King County Bar Association, 1200 Fifth Ave., Suite 600, Seattle WA 98101 or by email to KathleenJ@kcba.org.
