Bowling for Justice Rolls a Winner
More than 100 members of the King County Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division (YLD) and other keglers laced up their bowling shoes at The Garage in October in the annual Bowling for Justice challenge to raise funds for KCBA's pro bono programs.
"This is one my favorite events, because it goes to the core of what the YLD is about, bringing together a tremendous group of lawyers to have fun while raising money to serve the pro bono needs in our community," said YLD Chair Dave Keenan.
Joining the event this year was team "Motion to Strike Granted," which was headed up by Washington Supreme Court Justice Steve Gonzalez. Justice Gonzalez and his law clerks flashed some fancy footwork, but took home the trophy for the lowest aggregate score.
Skylee Robinson of Stoel Rives and her team, "Total Bowling Domination," won the trophy for the highest team score. The highest individual score was recorded by team member Tip Wonhoff. The trophy for best team name was awarded to the "We Was Framed" squad.
The event raised $3,000 to support pro bono services, including KCBA's 39 Neighborhood Legal Clinics. If you want to join in the fun at this year's event in the fall, put a team together and call Membership Services at KCBA - all are welcome!
