Celebrate ADR on Oct. 20
October brings special recognition and gatherings among the global community of alternative dispute resolution professionals. Every continent save Antarctica hosts multiple conferences, workshops and conclaves focused on mediation, arbitration, restorative justice and related disciplines. And the South Pole isn’t left out — locals can join the conversation in real time via satellite and cable, reflecting the rapid rise of online dispute resolution, or ODR.
This month KCBA announces its latest contribution to this international movement. On October 20, the ADR Section will host an open mixer to celebrate a pilot for expansion of ADR within the Lawyer Referral Program at KCBA. The LRS team is anxious to have additional options for referring members of the public who are seeking help. Often the needs of callers are outside a traditional litigation format.
The project’s first stage is to form new mediation and arbitration panels, and incorporate them into the LRS system. If you are interested in becoming a panel member for this pilot project, please request an application package from LRS staff. We hope to see you at the mixer.
For additional information, please contact Lori Buchsbaum, ADR Section chair, at firstname.lastname@example.org or Christine Dreps, KCBA Member Services senior manager, at email@example.com.
Mark your calendars!
