By the time you read this, summer will be almost over and I feel like it hasn’t even really started yet. What happened to those 90-degree days they were predicting? It’s been overcast and jacket weather when I walk to work in the morning, which is not what I expect in August. Perhaps to make up for it we will have one of those stunning, warm Septembers before we switch to gray. I hope so.

But I digress — it’s time to move on to the real purpose of this column, which is not to gripe about that which we cannot change, but to announce changes in the local legal community.

Partner Pronouncements

Christina Haring-Larson has joined Impact Law Group PLLC as a partner. Her practice focuses on business litigation. She was previously with Slinde Nelson Stanford.

Kurt Peterson has joined Foster Pepper PLLC’s real estate practice as a member. He will continue to handle environmental and cleanup matters. Peterson previously practiced at Cascadia Law Group and the Washington State Attorney General’s Office.

Byron Dailey has joined Lane Powell PC as a shareholder in the firm’s Business Department. Dailey is a corporate, securities, and mergers and acquisitions attorney. Prior to joining Lane Powell he was a partner in DLA Piper’s Seattle office.

Paula Zecchini has become a member of Cozen O’Connor. Her practice focuses on complex commercial and intellectual property litigation. Zecchini is also a member of the 2015-2016 World Affairs Council Fellow Program.

Associate Additions

Jessica Cohen has joined Ryan Swanson Cleveland, PLLC as an associate in the firm’s Real Estate, Development and Finance, and Healthcare groups. Cohen represents real estate and healthcare clients in acquisition transactions and general corporate matters. She previously practiced in the Healthcare Group at The Nathanson Group PLLC.

Andrew King has joined Foster Pepper PLLC as an associate in the firm’s real estate practice, where he will concentrate on environmental and hazardous waste cleanup matters. King previously practiced at Cascadia Law Group.

Other Attorney Moves

Sommer Clement has joined Carney Badley Spellman, P.S. as of counsel. Clement has a construction industry practice. Clement was previously a partner with Lorber, Greenfield & Polito, LLP.

Ross Farr has joined Rocke Law Group, PLLC where he practices employment law.

Sarah Kuipers has joined Foster Pepper PLLC’s Public Finance Practice as of counsel. She focuses on federal tax requirements and restrictions applicable to various types of tax-exempt obligations. She previously practiced in Atlanta with Morris, Manning & Martin.

Lindsey Briggs has joined Stoel Rives as of counsel. She represents high-net-worth individuals, families and corporate trustees in a variety of practice areas, including wealth management, and individual and corporate taxation. Briggs was previously with Kaye Scholer LLP in New York.

Firm Merger

Dean Standish Perkins & Associateshas merged with The Law Offices of Karen J. Zimmer, P.S. Zimmer passed away in July after initiating the merger. Richard Aguire has also joined the firm, focusing on personal injury law representing injured people and their families.

Outside of Private Practice

Monica Torrez-Pfister has become senior corporate counsel at TrueBlue, Inc. Torrez-Pfister was previously with Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice involves employment-related matters.
