This month marks the beginning of summer, which means that Bell Street from Second to Third Avenue will be closed to traffic for a couple hours most Friday nights through August for Belltown Beats (live music) and Artist Workshops in the Park (artists demonstrating and selling their work). You are all invited to participate in this example of park activation and civic engagement, and the first person who stops by my table and says they read about it in Bar Talk gets a free encaustic painting.
John McKay has joined Davis Wright Tremaine LLP as a partner. He chairs the firm’s Government Investigations and Crisis Management Group. McKay was formerly the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Washington.
Svend Brandt-Erichsen has joined Nossaman LLPas a partner in the Environment and Land Practice Group in the firm’s Seattle office. He was formerly with Marten Law, where he served as the office managing partner for its Seattle office.
John Theiss, Geoffrey Godfrey and Aaron Goldstein have become partners in Dorsey & Whitney LLP’s Seattle office. Theiss has joined the firm’s Construction Litigation Group where his practice focuses on representing owners, contractors, engineers, architects and construction managers in litigation and arbitration related to the construction, design and manufacturing industries. Theiss was formerly a partner with Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, where he led the firm’s Government Contracts, and Construction and Design Professionals practice groups. Godfrey has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group. His practice includes intellectual property litigation and strategic counseling, with an emphasis on patent matters. He was previously counsel in the Litigation/Controversy Department and a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP. Goldstein handles complex employment litigation.
Harold Malkin has become a shareholder with Lane Powell, where he chairs the Investigations and Regulatory Compliance Team in the firm’s Litigation Department. He was most recently chief of the Affirmative Civil Enforcement Unit in the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Serena Carlsen has become a partner in Perkins Coie’s Real Estate & Land Use practice. Carlsen handles commercial property and development matters. She was previously a partner at Stoel Rives.
Jason Holloway and J. Blake Hiltyhave joined Socius Law Group, PLLCas members. Holloway and Hilty were formerly with Stokes Lawrence and McKinley Irvin, respectively. They concentrate their practices in matrimonial and family law.
Laura Sell has joined McKinley Irvin as a new partner in its Seattle office. Sell most recently served clients as a family law attorney at Stokes Lawrence. Sell also regularly serves as a mediator and settlement conference master in family law cases.
Sarah Elerson has joined Helsell Fetterman as an associate in the firm’s Family Law Practice Group. Her primary practice areas include divorce and legal separation, matters involving children, pre/post-nuptial agreements, and other actions arising out of dissolutions. Elerson was formerly an associate at Stokes Lawrence.
Meghan Bowen Frazer has joined my absolute favorite law firm, Ogden Murphy Wallace, PLLC, as a municipal associate. Frazer most recently was with the City of Seattle as an employee and labor relations manager.
Noelle Chung and James Bulthuishave joined Tousley Brain Stephens as associates. Chung has extensive litigation experience and has handled a variety of commercial litigation matters. Bulthuis has extensive experience in commercial litigation, land use and construction litigation. He was formerly with Clement & Drotz, PLLC.
Lance Pelletier has become an associate in Stokes Lawrence’s litigation practice where he focuses on complex commercial litigation matters.
Jill Fulwiler, Brendan Mahan and Jocqui Kaup have joined the Seattle office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati as associates. Fulwiler practices corporate and securities law. She previously worked in the firm’s Palo Alto and San Francisco offices. Mahan is in the firm’s mergers and acquisitions practice. Kaup’s practice focuses on corporate and securities matters for emerging growth companies, and venture capital and private equity firms.
Adam Matherly has joined Karr Tuttle Campbell as an associate. His practice emphasizes IP and emerging companies.
