In Memoriam: John M. Davis (1914–2015)

KCBA was saddened to hear of the April 17 passing of past KCBA President John M. Davis, at the age of 101. Mr. Davis served as our board president in 1960–61.
Born on February 20, 1914, in Seattle, Mr. Davis grew up in Spokane and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School. He attended the University of Washington from 1931 until graduation in 1936. He graduated from the University of Washington School of Law in 1940 having served on the Law Review and as president of the law school student body.
He founded the Davis Wright Tremaine firm, which now has more than 500 attorneys and nine offices around the United States. His leadership extended to numerous community organizations such as the Mercer Island School Board, Virginia Mason Hospital Association and many more.
