YLD Picks Slate for 2015–16 Board Positions
After a thorough application and interview process in which a number of great candidates came forward, the King County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Nominations Committee has nominated a slate of candidates for the upcoming vacancies on the Young Lawyers Division Board of Trustees. The YLD bylaws prescribe that the Nominations Committee shall nominate at least one candidate for each member and lay member vacancy to be filled.
The Committee has nominated one candidate for each open position as follows: Peter Talevich, currently serving as YLD vice chair, for a one-year term as chair of the YLD; Kelli Currie, Travis Dailey, Shaina Johnson and Amy Nelson for three-year member terms; and Jonathan Lytle for a two-year lay member term.
YLD members and lay members who wish to challenge the slate may run against the above-named candidates for member and lay member trustee positions by submitting a petition signed by at least five members of the YLD in good standing (25 signatures required if challenging the chair position) and filing that petition with the office of the King County Bar Association on or before 3 p.m., Friday, May 15.
For more information about the petition process, please contact KCBA Member Services Manager Christine Dreps at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 206-267-7003.
An electronic election will occur only if a petition to challenge one or more candidates is received by the May 15 deadline. If an election is required, members will be sent a voting link by May 18 via their email addresses on file with KCBA.
The KCBA YLD expresses its thanks to the 2015 YLD Nominations Committee, which was comprised of YLD board members and non-board members, for their efforts to recommend candidates to the YLD membership: Peter Talevich, Lori Hurl, Stephanie Lakinski, Skylee Robinson and Brandon Batchelor.
