May 2012 Bar Bulletin

Letters to the Editor

Farewell Judge Barnett

To the Editor:

On April 13, I tendered to Governor Gregoire my resignation from the King County Superior Court. Beginning in mid-May, I will assume the post of Chief Copyright Royalty Judge at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.

This transition comes almost exactly 30 years after I arrived in Seattle to begin my law practice.

I am humbled by the quality of the lawyers with whom I had the pleasure of practicing. I feel privileged to have served on this county's dynamic and skilled Superior Court. Fine lawyers and fine judges have, through patience and by example, made me a better professional.

Thank you all for 30 years of learning and sharing.

-Judge Suzanne M. Barnett
