As I write this, my surroundings are a little distracting because there are approximately 700,000 people screaming "Seahawks!" below my window, which is counterbalanced by the utter quiet within my office because most everybody else left to go watch the parade. Of course, by the time you read this the Super Bowl parade will be old news and everyone's attention will have turned to Mariners spring training and/or Sounders pre-season games.

New Partners and Members

Gregory Hixson has been named a partner at Short Cressman & Burgess PLLC. Hixson's practice focuses on environmental matters and related litigation.

L. Rhys Lawson and David Sheldon have been elected members of Christensen O'Connor Johnson Kindness. They both are members of the firm's Patent Practice Group. Lawson concentrates on life practice and mechanical engineering. Sheldon practices in the area of software-related inventions and technology.

Jason Donovan, Terrance Keenan, Kirsten Koester, Katie Carder McCoy and Chuck Rullman have been promoted to member status at Foster Pepper PLLC. Donovan concentrates his practice on representing policyholders in insurance coverage disputes. Keenan is a member of the firm's Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy Practice where he works on matters related to bankruptcy, debtor-creditor law, civil litigation and real estate matters. Koester represents emerging and established companies in various corporate, securities and finance matters, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. McCoy is a member of the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice and co-chairs the firm's Retail & Consumer Products Industry Group. She concentrates on commercial and employment litigation. Rullman is a member of the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group. He represents large and mid-sized companies and governmental entities in commercial and class action disputes.

Douglas Steding has joined Graham & Dunn PC as a shareholder. Steding focuses his practice on environmental law and litigation, representing land owners, real estate developers, construction companies, industrial facilities and other businesses.

Adrienne Finnell and Justin Sedell have been named principals by Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson, PLLC. Finnell handles complex marital dissolution actions involving asset valuation, property division and spousal maintenance concerns. Sedell concentrates on divorce cases, complex child custody disputes, collaborative law and high-conflict litigation.

Kevin Bay has joined Tousley Brain Stephens as a member. Bay was formerly with Ryan Swanson.

Mick Fleming has become a member at Ryan Swanson within its litigation, real estate and business groups. He focuses his practice on complex dispute resolution and also handles business mergers and acquisitions, and securities matters.
