11th Annual Future of the Law Institute
Minority and financially disadvantaged students from 14 high schools were given a glimpse of some of the many possible careers that can be found in the legal field during the 11th Annual Future of Law Institute (FLI). FLI held its annual two-day program at Seattle University and the University of Washington in November.
Over the two-day program, five judges and 35 volunteer lawyers made presentations, and coached and inspired students who had never considered any type of legal career. The program ended with the completion of two mock jury trials. But most significantly, many FLI graduates will start college with an eye on law school.
The FLI students are pictured with Washington Supreme Court Chief Justice Barbara Madsen and Justice Debra Stephens.
