Blasting Off into the Blogosphere Community

King County is home to some of the world’s most technologically advanced companies. Accordingly, it is no surprise that blogging has become part of our local legal community.1

However, it has remained just that, a part. This article will explain why more lawyers may want to enter the law-blogging community and to raise their comfort level to take the leap.

First, a blog, or “web log,” is a website used to publish the thoughts of its author online. The term “blawg” has developed to designate blogs related to the law. The benefits of blogging are many. They start internally and flow outward in the following order:

  • better reasoning skills;
  • better awareness of one’s practice area;
  • better writing skills;
  • better connections within the legal community;
  • better connections with vendors related to one’s practice area; and
