Free Legal Assistance

The King County Bar Association Pro Bono Services department works with over 1400 volunteer attorneys, paralegals, law students and community members to provide free legal assistance for low income King County residents. Click on a link below to learn more.

General Legal Advice

Neighborhood Legal Clinics
Provides FREE 30 minute consultations with an attorney at 34 locations across King County, including locations specializing in debt, bankruptcy, and family law issues. Attorneys determine whether the client has a legal problem, suggest possible options, and provide appropriate referrals. NLC attorneys will not represent you in court. NLC is a limited legal service and should not be considered a substitute for representation.

Vacating Criminal Records

The Records Project provides free legal services to vacate eligible King County criminal convictions for individuals that are at or below 200% of the federal poverty line. A vacated conviction is removed from public background searches available to employers and potential landlords. Our goal is to reduce barriers to employment and housing created by convictions.
