The word “home” has a special resonance in English, and especially so in American English some say. A home is more than a house, and having a home does not always require owning a home:
“Home” evokes thoughts of, among many other things, family, safety, privacy, and community. In the United States, home and home ownership are held in high cultural esteem, as American as apple pie and baseball.1
