Family law has lost an abundance of knowledge and experience with the retirement of Commissioner Bonnie Canada-Thurston. She has been a public servant for more than 40 years. She began as a deputy prosecuting attorney, but spent the majority of her career as a family law commissioner, mentor and leader. She is a wife, mother and person of faith.
Commissioner Canada-Thurston’s honest and forthright manner on the bench could not be equaled. Excellence was the standard set and followed. She held the bar to the same standard to which she held herself.
