I submit the following piece in an effort to honor one of my mentors, and also to remind us of just how important mentorship is to our legal community. It is the key to increasing diversity, competence and professionalism in the King County bar.
In Juvenile Court, we talk about the importance of communities coming together to provide credible services through credible messengers to young people, and how the rules and laws of “the system” can only do so much to increase opportunities and reduce bad choices.
