Courtroom East 1201, located in the King County Courthouse in downtown Seattle, is arguably the busiest courtroom in the State. East 1201 — or simply “1201” as it is known by the lawyers who practice there — in addition to being a high-volume, fast-paced place with a mix of arraignments, bond hearings and status conferences, is also unsafe and a poor physical work environment for those who must appear there.
