Gov. Jay Inslee announced on January 18 the appointment of Seattle Municipal Court Presiding Judge Karen Donohue to the King County Superior Court bench. Her appointment will be effective in March, when she will replace Judge Hollis Hill, who is retiring at the end of February.
Judge Donohue has been the Municipal Court presiding judge since 2016 and has served on the Municipal Court bench since 2011. Prior to joining the bench, Judge Donohue was an assistant Seattle city attorney from 1990–94, general counsel for The Walter Group from 1994–2000, and director of Front Porch Classics from 2001–2004.
