Large employers frequently hire employees living far from where they will be employed and transfer existing employees to areas distant from their current homes. Such hires and transferees are often offered relocation benefits of varying types. For example, the employer may offer to pay to move the employee’s household furnishings and vehicles. The focus here will be on one specific relocation benefit: Assisting in the sale of an employee seller’s (hereinafter merely “employee”) current home.
