Campaign advertisements, political communications, and candidate information have been flooding the inboxes and mailboxes of King County voters over the last few months, so hopefully you have set some time aside to vote by now. Sometimes voting feels like a duty, just a checkmark on a long to-do list, but it is also a right that has been enjoyed by very few in human history. When — perhaps I’m only speaking for myself here — voting seems futile because the candidate I vote for didn’t win or the results I wanted aren’t realized, I think about others whose voices aren’t heard.
