Pro Bono Spotlight: KCBA's Pro Bono Work on Behalf of Immigrant Children

Since 2015, KCBA’s Pro Bono programs have been working in partnership with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP), and local community groups and immigration law firms to help address the legal and safety needs of immigrant children who have suffered from parental maltreatment. KCBA’s Kinship Care Solutions Project and Self-Help Plus program provide pro bono assistance and representation in state court actions so that relevant findings are obtained to help certain immigrant children qualify for Special Immigrant Juvenile classification (SIJ).
