I assumed that an individual’s decision of when to become a parent would never be in jeopardy, at least not in my lifetime. However, given the polarization of the nation regarding abortion and the composition of the U.S. Supreme Court right now, such choices are slipping away. While Washington has put protections in place, giving pregnant persons both the choice of when to become parents and control over their own bodies, other states oppose giving people such control and have opted to restrict the rights of individuals to become parents at their own time and choosing.
