Just the Facts, Ma’am: Using Interdisciplinary Research and Factual Data to Bolster Litigation

Washington State law librarian Rob Mead and I recently presented the program, “Truth to Power: Interdisciplinary Social Science and Economic Research for Discovery, Public Interest Litigation, and Public Defense” at the Access to Justice Conference. Using the Washington State Supreme Court case Martinez-Cuevas v. DeRuyter Brothers Dairy Inc.1 as a touchstone, we looked at the ways that factual data can be used to bolter arguments in impact litigation.
