Trustees Are Briefed on the Housing Justice Project

The following are highlights from the KCBA Board of Trustees meeting held on May 19th, convened by KCBA President John McKay.

Edmund Witter, Housing Justice Project (HJP) Senior Managing Attorney briefed the trustees on the history of the HJP, legislative changes affecting evictions during the past three years, and the impact that the pandemic has had on evictions. Witter explained how the Homebase program, developed with the United Way and the Seattle Mariners, has become a model program and allows us to provide rental assistance to keep tenants in their homes.
