Another virtual attorney admission ceremony? A year ago, KCBA never would have considered such a thing. Swearing-In ceremonies are serious, and formal. Attorney admission marks a monumental achievement and should be treated accordingly. Although the event is normally attended in person by a bench full of robed judges and guest speakers such as state representatives or the Lieutenant Governor, this virtual event is another example of dedicated professionals making the best of uncontrollable circumstances.

On April 22, King County Superior Court Presiding Judge Jim Rogers administered a virtual oath of attorney for the fourth time since the pandemic began. Judge Rogers was joined by KCBA President John McKay, New Lawyers...
