When the month of Ramadan arrived, the doors of mercy were opened. This coincided with the realization of the struggles, sorrows, and needs of the KCBA team, volunteers, members, donors, and our community. As I write this, Derek Chauvin was found guilty of murdering George Floyd; COVID-19 variants continue to rise and the eviction moratorium is scheduled to end next month; and I’m navigating my third month in this humbling role and I do so with an empty stomach and a heart full of hope.
