Local governments in Washington have avoided a major pitfall this year. House Bill 1440 (the “Small Wireless Facility Deployment Act”) attempted to restrict local governments’ ability to regulate deployment of small cell facilities. However, it did not make it very far in the 2021 Washington Legislative session, fizzling out in the Community and Economic Development Committee within weeks of being introduced.
