On February 18, 2020, the Boy Scouts of America filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy1 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware as a result of lawsuits brought by survivors of childhood sexual abuse.2 Our law firm’s clients filed more than 70 of those lawsuits, including cases in Washington, California, New York, New Jersey, and Illinois.
In their bankruptcy filings the Boy Scouts reported they knew of approximately 1,700 abuse survivors who were already represented by law firms and would likely file claims in the bankruptcy. Based on our...
