Champion Diversity and Support Pro Bono Legal Services

By Kate Battuello

Yes, it’s true. Attorney and best-selling author Scott Turow is coming to town and you can hear him speak at the King County Bar Foundation’s 8th annual fundraising Breakfast With Champions on April 14.

We hope you’ve already made plans to attend this year’s Breakfast, which is the first step toward becoming a champion for civil legal aid and diversity. There is more you can do, however. Please consider the following additional Breakfast opportunities for supporting the Foundation’s increasingly important access to justice agenda:

    • Be a table captain and invite nine colleagues or friends to join your table, enjoy Scott Turow’s keynote address and pledge your financial support.

    • Host the table you are putting together and encourage your guests to add the price of their ticket to their pledge.

    • Be a Breakfast Sponsor at the Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum or Diamond level and receive special recognition.

Last year, the Foundation helped more than 9,500 low-income people to access more than $7.6 million worth of volunteer legal services, granted $125,000 in scholarships for minority students attending the University of Washington and Seattle University law schools, and actively supported a range of activities that promote diversity in the King County legal community. This year we hope to do even more, but we need your help.

We hope you will join us and Scott Turow for breakfast at 7:30 a.m. on April 14 at the Seattle Westin Hotel. For more information on the many ways in which you can be a Breakfast Champion, please contact Marzette Mondin at either MarzetteM@KCBA.org or 206-267-7007.
