The Value of Fun

By Marcus Hochstetler

What is the value of fun? How we define it is based on personal interests or hobbies and can include many people or be a solo endeavor. Where we go depends on the pathfinders we use to get from point A to point B.

If we are the wired-in types, we go directly to the Internet to search out the means to our end. We look for maps, reviews of restaurants, movies or vacation hot spots, only to discover that it is the people around us who give us the best advice. Those who have experienced a great vacation location share it with anyone who will listen.

When it comes to your legal research, you also can benefit from the help of a few pathfinders or advice from those in the know. You probably know by now I am referring to the staff at the library that bring together years of experience in searching legal resources to help you get to the information you seek more quickly and save money in the process.

    Fun Sites:

    Research Classes:

    • Legal Research for the Non-Attorney Part I and II: This two-part class focuses on basic legal research techniques for the non-attorney and highlights books and online resources for legal research on the local, state and federal level.
Part 1 on Monday, August 6, from noon to 1:30; Part II on Monday, August 13, from noon to 1:30.
    • Skip Tracing: Public Sleuthing Through Those Public Records. Come to this training to find out what you can do to find out how to find free information on that person, litigation witness or company you need to pursue your lawsuit. Friday, August 24, from noon to 1:30.

All classes are held in the Seattle library location at 516 Third Ave, Suite W-621.
